Trauma-informed interviewing prioritizes a client's emotional well-being during questioning. It acknowledges past trauma may influence how they respond. The interviewer creates a safe, supportive space. Open-ended questions are used, allowing the client control over the narrative. If distress arises, the interviewer validates feelings and offers breaks. This approach fosters trust, gathers accurate information, and empowers clients on their healing journey.

These same principles can be applied to interviewing victims and witnesses to all crimes and even makes you better at suspect interrogations.

Human Trafficking - Adult Sexual Exploitation During this three-hour webinar on Human Trafficking, specifically Adult Sexual Exploitation, participants will learn about the prevalence of trafficking in Florida, how to spot signs of trafficking, the relevant laws in the state, and how to conduct investigations utilizing a victim centered and trauma informed approach.
