Caring for the Transgender Survivor

Description:

This training will boost providers confidence and cultural competence when caring for a transgender survivor.

At the conclusion of the training, the learner will have an increased knowledge of:

  • The vulnerability and risk of sexual violence for the LGBTQ+ community

  • How to communicate and provide health care in an open and non-judgmental manner

  • Hormonal and surgical options and the physical, emotional, psychological impact

  • How to adapt a physical exam and evidence collection for a survivor who has undergone gender-affirming health care
