Inner Truth Project
Mindi Fetterman, Founder and Visionary Leader of The Inner Truth Project, is a survivor of childhood abuse, drug-facilitated sexual assault, gang rape, and assault as an adult. Overcoming these challenges fueled her commitment to community, activism, and leadership. Mindi holds a Magna Cum Laude degree in Women’s Studies from Florida Atlantic University, actively engages in political and community activism, is active in several boards, women’s organizations, and her temple. She will graduate with an MSW from the Social Work program at the University of Kentucky in May of 2024.
Driven by her personal journey, Mindi founded The Inner Truth Project in 2012, the only secular nonprofit exclusively for survivors of sexual violence on the Treasure Coast. The organization offers support, education, and healing for survivors and their families. As a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist, Mindi is a sought-after speaker on breaking societal shame around sexual trauma. She has received numerous awards for her advocacy, including the Soroptimist International Volunteer of the Year, Investigation Discovery Channel Hero of the Month, and the Jefferson Award. She received the Community Impact Award from The Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County, the Bob Graham Distinguished Service Award from Indian River State College, a Special Honor Award from Palm Beach County NOW, and The Visionary Voice Award presented by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
Living in Florida for over three decades, Mindi, along with her husband Adam and son Noah, enjoys family activities, music festivals, kayaking, clay shooting, camping, reading, and foreign films.
