Marianela Velazquez: Statewide Victim Services Coordinator

Marianela has over eight years of experience working with immigrants and victims of violence. Prior to joining FCASV, she was the Prevention Sexual Abuse & Compliance Manager for one of the Office of Refugees and Resettlement (ORR) programs located in Tampa, FL.  She also was a staff paralegal for the Children’s Protection Project at the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago, IL.   Prior to NIJC, she worked as a Family Reunification Specialist for Heartland Alliance.  She graduated from the University Central of Venezuela School of Law.  She has done volunteer work teaching for the illiteracy program at Poder Learning Center in Chicago, IL. As Statewide Victim Services Coordinator, Marianela works with the legal team in providing trauma-informed services to victims and survivors of sexual violence.
