Before Joining FCASV, Leo worked in different roles since 2001 while studying law in Cuba. Either as an intern, student assistant, professor of law, researcher, law clerk, or as a lawyer, Leo’s work experience focuses on gender issues, social justice, and poverty law. The Legal Assistance to Victims of Sexual Assault Program that Leo supervises provides legal representation to victims of sexual assault in areas related to petition for injunctions, employment law, housing, Education Law, Immigration Law, among others. Leo graduated from law school in Cuba in 2008, from FSU Law in 2014 with an LLM and in 2016 with a JD. Leo enjoys the city and the beach and is a fan of dogs and horses.
