Work Experience/Education Requirements:  

High School diploma or its equivalent required. One year of experience working with sexual violence victims as an advocate or in a comparable position required. Experience working in the community is necessary, preferably in a community organization or similar role; experience may be substituted for education at the discretion and approval of the CEO. The Sexual Assault Services Coordinator shall complete a Level 2 background screening devoid of a disqualifying offense prior to employment and every three years thereafter. 

Job Summary:

This position provides advocacy services to victims of sexual violence. The Coordinator will provide crisis intervention counseling, advocacy, emotional support and service management to sexual violence victims and their loved ones at any stage of their recovery process.  The Coordinator will also collaborate with other community agencies to ensure that victims receive the most comprehensive crisis intervention services available.  In addition, the Coordinator will assist with implementing plans for program development. Must be available to work varying shifts, including evenings, over-nights, weekends, holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires the ability to work independently as well as possess strong writing, communication, organization, time management, and computer skills. The position requires the ability to work with individuals of all ethnic backgrounds and ages. Must be sensitive to the problems of families who come from a battering environment. Must be flexible in duties and hours worked.
