Description:

This presentation aims to shed light on the underlying biases that drive gender-based violence. Through true stories and statistics, this thought-provoking training will provide participants with a deeper understanding in which oppressive belief systems and biases contribute to violence against women. Participants will explore their own biases, learn about the impact of societal biases on attitudes and behavior, and develop strategies for interrupting and challenging these biases in themselves and others. With a goal of raising awareness, this training provides a powerful opportunity for participants to take action against gender-based violence.

Participants will

  • understand how biases can lead and contribute to gender-based violence

  • learn how to help combat rape culture

  • learn how to be an active bystander to help those who may be experiencing gender-based violence
